Here’s a good article about how the Obama Administration (including the State Department) has tried to get around FOIA requests.
“…the Obama White House has turned stonewalling into an art form. A favorite tactic is to ignore or string out the requests. That’s what State did in Mrs. Clinton’s case, claiming it simply couldn’t get around to issuing her emails until next year…”
Well, that’s surprising. No, not really.
Here’s another installment for the “Unfit for the Internet” files. My daughter brought this to my attention yesterday. Apparently, it’s making the rounds in the Progressive/Liberal low information voters right now.
About a week ago a one of those fake news sites (fake as in complete satire al a The Onion) posted up this story, about how the Hose Republicans are drafting up a bill that would give the First Daughters a dress code. The so called “bill” is going to be titled the “The Respectable First Family Act”. Which from the deranged mind of a Progressive, seems perfectly legit.
Here’s a snippet of the article:
“I shouldn’t need to justify why this bill is necessary to anyone, not after seeing what they were dressed like,” says the bill’s author, Congressman Richard Head (R-UT). “Did you see the photos from the march? The First Daughters looked like pole dancers. You could clearly see their knees and even an inch or two of their thighs. And one of them was wearing go-go dancer boots…
Now, this article isn’t really what I want to bring to your attention. What I want you to do is search for “house republican dress code“. Now, by the time you read this, the search results may be different. However, there’s many sites of people posting comments containing their disgust for those Republicans, using names like “racist”, “morons” and other not so kind words. That is until someone kindly let’s them know that yes, it is satire. And then there’s a near audible sigh of relief and a well, their so stupid anyway comment.
And there’s a few sites which have posted this entirely as well with no indication that it’s a fake story. Who knows if the people on the sites even care so long as it paints their opponents in a bad light.
Yeah, you’ve been trolled. You’ve exposed yourself as the hateful, dismissive person you are. I want to see more Progressives and Liberals being exposed for who they really are.
Back in 2008, then Candidate Barack Obama made a lot of statements about President Bush. Even though President Bush wasn’t campaigning, he still pounded and pounded. There’s many comments that Barack Obama won against John McCain by running against President Bush.
The problem with that is the he’s become, in many ways, exactly what he criticized President Bush as being. Here’s a prime example. In 2008, in a townhall meeting in Pennsylvania he made the claim that President Bush was trying to expand the powers of the Executive Branch. Claiming that he took the constitution very seriously. I’ve posted the video here.
What’s interesting, and very timely is that Senator Ted Cruz released yesterday a list of abuses of Executive Powers. Doing more than what the then candidate Barack Obama criticized President Bush for doing. Here’s just a few to wet your whistle from the Daily Caller article which you can see the full sourced list at:
1. “Obama implemented portions of the DREAM Act by executive action”
2. “Ended some terror asylum restrictions”
3. “Recognized same sex marriage in Utah despite a Supreme Court stay on a court order allowing the institution”
4. “Illegally revealed the existence of sealed indictments in the Benghazi investigation”
5. “Illegally delayed Obamacare verification of eligibility for healthcare subsidies”
6. “Ordered Boeing to fire 1,000 employees in South Carolina and shut down a new factory because it was non-union”
7. “Terminated the pensions of 20,000 non-union Delphi employees in the GM bankruptcy.”
8. “Government agencies are engaging in ‘Operation Choke Point,’ where the government asks banks to ‘choke off’ access to financial services for customers engaging in conduct the Administration does not like—such as ‘ammunition sales.’”
Not only did he get elected deriding abuse of Executive Powers, he’s taken it to new levels. If the people who voted for Obama because of statements like this read this list and actually follow the sources, they really ought to feel cheated. I know I do, and I didn’t even vote for the man.
UPDATE: You can see Senator Cruz’s list here.
While campaigning in 2008, Barack Obama criticized President Bush for trying to go around congress.
This is an excellent speech.
Not sure why, but this didn’t get published, so publishing now.
My previous post about President Obama being fast with gun control data reminded me of another occurance of his knack of being deceptive with data. If you remember back when he was being critisized for his creative methods of blocking new drilling for oil he kept on quoting a statistic that “The United States holds only 2% of the planet’s proven oil reserves”. This is something that he uses to suggest that the US just doesn’t have that much oil in the ground and drilling would be a waste of time and money. That’s what he wants people to assume. Because most people don’t know what “proven oil reserves” means it’s not a huge stretch for people to make that jump.
Well, the Institute for Energy Research put out an article about this deception (emphasis added).
According to President Obama, the United States contains only 2 percent of the planet’s proven oil reserves, Of course, he’s right — to a point. In classic fashion, he’s using a technicality to skirt the facts and keep the myth of energy scarcity alive. The reality is that the U.S. has enough recoverable oil for the next 200 years, despite only having 2 percent of the world’s current proven oil reserves.
And the technicality that he’s using?
Proven oil reserves are not all of our oil resources—not even close. In fact, proved reserves represent a tiny portion of our total oil resources. Proven (or proved) oil reserves are reserves that have already been discovered, typically through actual exploration or drilling, and which can be recovered economically.
Read the article for more details about what the proven oil reserves really means. Ultimately, we’ve had only 2% pretty much all of the time.
