Obama’s Hubris

“The god-king has betrayed a fatal flaw: Hubris.”

This is a quote from the fantastic movie 300 when Xerxes under-estimates the Spartans and sends his best warriors to their death.  But what does this have to do with Obama?

If you recall, everyone pretty much agrees that Obama didn’t do so well in the first debate with Mitt Romney.  In fact, there’s people who I never thought I hear criticism of Obama come out of their mouth that had plenty to say.  But, what did Obama think?  Well, the British paper The Daily Mail has found that Obama actually thought he won.

“When President Barack Obama stepped off the stage in Denver last week the 60 million Americans watching the debate against Mitt Romney already knew it had been a disaster for him.

But what nobody knew, until now, was that Obama believed he had actually won.”

He really, honestly believed he won.  Not only is he out of touch with what the economy, and international concerns, he’s out of touch with what the American Public thinks how he’s doing.

The reason that’s given to us for Obama not doing well is very revealing:

“The Democrat said that Obama’s inner circle was dismayed at the ‘disaster’ and that he believed the central problem was that the President was so disdainful of Romney that he didn’t believe he needed to engage with him.”

Disdainful.  As in consider as beneath oneself.

dis·dain (dis-deyn)

1. To regard or treat with haughty contempt; despise.
2. To consider or reject as beneath oneself.

A feeling or show of contempt and aloofness; scorn.

In deed, what is a President of the United States doing considering someone who has served as a successful governor to a very liberal state as beneath him?  The very man who thinks he can (and I believe he will) do better than Obama at restoring America to it’s former strength and Obama thinks that he doesn’t need even consider his criticisms.   This is just one example of how Obama treats those who do not follow him lock-step.  Even moderate Democrats have felt his disdain.  And people believe that the partisan politics in DC are all the result of Republicans?

People need to wake up.  Obama isn’t on their side, he’s a Politician and a King.  And to some people, he’s a god-king.  He needs to be voted out of office!

Chains of Rage

Recently, guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine had some strong words for Paul Ryan when they heard that he liked their music but not their lyrics.  Tom called Ryan the “embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades”.  Many of the fans of Obama have latched onto Morello’s words in a school-yard “haha” moment.  Surely, their candidate would be the “solution” to the ills that Rage complains about!  As if a politician would even be the solution that Rage would get behind.

Another event that has caused the devotees of Obama look down their noses at the rest of the country was Vice President Biden talking decidedly below his office when saying that Romney-Ryan just want’s to enslave the American Public by unchaining wall street and putting the public in chains.

Now, surely, President Obama is true to his words.  He talks a tough talk against Wall-street, CEO’s, and corporate corruption.  But talk is cheap, and when you are a politician it’s a tool.  So, the question is, where does the tire meet the road in all of this tough talk?

Surely he’s done as he’s promised.  He’s taken action against the corrupt, right?  No news is good news, right?  I mean, if there were something worth reporting, it would have been reported by the TV news and print media, right?  Well, don’t hold your breath waiting for the alphabet media and compromising print media to do any kind of homework.  There’s some important information out there and it hasn’t gotten out.

I found an American Thinker blog article by Jean-Claude Groulix that was posted to a friends page in Google Plus about this very thing.  Apparently Obama really didn’t mean what he said when he was talking tough against the Bankers and Wall-Street.

The article quotes another article from The Daily Caller in which it shows that the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) did a study on actions against possible criminal actions by corporations and their executives.  They found that the Obama administration didn’t criminally charge any of the people that were the subject of many of Obama’s speeches.

But why?  Why would the Obama Administration not prosecute the Bankers, CEOs, and others who were the target of his ire?

GAI argues that the Obama administration’s decision to not go after Big Finance is due to senior DOJ leadership — Holder, Associate Attorney General Tom Perrelli, Associate Attorney General Tony West, Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer, Deputy Attorney General James Cole and Deputy Associate Attorney General Karol Mason — who “all came to the DOJ from prestigious white-collar defense firms where they represented the very financial institutions the DOJ is supposed to investigate.”

Crony Capitalism.  But, in reality, that’s nothing new for Obama is it.

But exactly how far off is he?  I mean, surely he isn’t far off from his predecessors, right?  Well, Jean-Claude very succinctly lays it out:

Bush – 1,300 convictions;

Clinton – 1,000 convictions;

Obama – Zero attempts.

That’s 0 (ZERO) attempts.  Not Convictions, attempts.  You can’t get a conviction if you don’t even try.  They didn’t even try to get a conviction against the basis of Obama’s class warfare rhetoric.

Now, back to the people who cheered Morello’s remarks and sneered at Ryan.  Do you really think that Obama ISN’T the problem that Morello is talking about?  In fact, he’s more of a problem that George W. Bush ever was.
